By India Today Web Desk: Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has said that Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will get the job done for India. The Indian spin duo picked up eight wickets between them as India bundled Australia over for 177 in the first innings of the Nagpur Test.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Harbhajan said Ashwin and Jadeja would get the job done for India and win the match on Day 3. Ashwin picked up three wickets while Jadeja claimed a five-wicket haul on his comeback to international cricket after a long injury lay off.

India vs Australia, 1st Test Day 3 Updates

“I think Ashwin will pick the most wickets and Jadeja will also have some. These two spinners will get the job done. They have many left-handers, so Ashwin will probably start with the new ball. I think the spinners will win the match for India tomorrow,” said Harbhajan.

The 42-year-old said Jadeja played a fabulous innings on Day 2, insisting that he showed how Test cricket should be played. Jadeja scored 70 runs for India before being dismissed by Todd Murphy.

“He picked five wickets with the ball. But the innings he played was such a fabulous innings. It wasn’t typical where Jadeja just came in and went on hitting. He showed defense and his step over was also good. He showed the game that is played in Test cricket,” Harbhajan added.

He went on to say that Jadeja and Axar Patel’s partnership pushed Australia out of the game. The two all-rounders put up an 88-run stand to peg Australia back on Day 2.

“Jadeja’s innings was a big, big plus. The partnership between Jadeja and Axar Patel has pushed Australia out of the game. There is enough that Australia, even by chance, cannot come back into the game because we have seen on the pitch how (the ball) is spinning,” said Harbhajan.
