Capri Global-owned Women’s Premier League team has been named UP Warriorz. The franchise have zeroed in on their think tank, with Anju Jain (assistant coach), Jon Lewis (head coach) and Ashley Noffke (bowling coach) joining the franchise.

By India Today Web Desk: Capri Global Holdings Private Limited-owned franchise in the upcoming inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been named UP Warriorz.
Capri Global is one of the five companies that won the bidding to own a team in the Women’s Premier League. Capri spent INR 757 crores to own the Lucknow-based franchise.
The UP Warriorz have zeroed in on their think tank too, with four-time World Cup champion and former Australia captain Lisa Sthalekar appointed as the mentor.
Former India cricketer Anju Jain has been named as the assistant coach, while former England cricketer Jon Lewis and former Australia cricketer Ashley Noffke have been roped in as the head coach and the bowling coach, respectively. Lewis is currently the head coach of England women’s team. He has previously worked as the bowling coach of England men’s team in 2021.

The Women’s Premier League will take place from March 4 to 26 in Mumbai, with DY Patil and Brabourne Stadiums to hosts the matches. The WPL auction will be held on February 13 in Mumbai.
