By India Today Web Desk: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that the team has a chance to show that the club is really special in their match against Everton in the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the match, Klopp said they desperately need to pick up three points against Everton, insisting that he wants to see a reaction from Liverpool.
“In recent years, it was often that Everton could cause a lot of problems to us when they weren’t happy with things that were going on. It’s not a normal game but it is another where we desperately need three points. After the game we played [at Wolves], we have to react again and I know how people want to see it. I want to see it,” said Klopp.
The German manager said Liverpool has a chance to show everyone that it is a really special club during the Merseyside derby against Everton.
“This is not a time we wanted to have, or a time we’re happy to be in. But it’s a time where we can show, if we want to show, that the club is really special,” Klopp added.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager said Liverpool are fighting to change their situation for the better in the league. The Reds are currently placed 10th in the Premier League table.
“The boys have delivered a lot of great moments in the last few years, and we are still fighting to change the situation in a better direction,” said Klopp.
He went on to say that he did not see his players for a couple of days so that everyone can come back in a good mood for their upcoming match.
“We did the analysis, we talked to each other and then gave them two days off because it is a very long time between Saturday and Monday. On Sunday after we spoke about everything, I thought it makes 100% sense if we don’t see each other for two days and it was helpful. I left on Sunday in an average mood and came back in a good mood,” Klopp added.
