By India Today Web Desk: Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar hailed the trio of R Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja as the Indian team’s RRR on their heroics in the 1st Test match at Nagpur.
Playing the opening Test match, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma’s performances put India on top against the number 1 ranked Test side in the world. Sachin tweeted out during the second session of Day 2 of the Test match on Friday, 10 February, calling the trio the Indian team’s RRR.
“The trio of Rohit, Ravindra & Ravichandran have helped India get ahead in this Test. Rohit has led from the front with his 100 while R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have got us important breakthroughs,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted on Friday, 10 February.
India were put in a strong position on Day 1 of the Test match after Ravindra Jadeja ran through the Australian middle order. Ashwin supported Jadeja well and helped in cleaning up the tail of the visiting team. The spin duo picked up 8 wickets together in the first innings, that restricted the Australian total to just 177 runs.
Sharma came out with positive intent in the first innings and hit a stunning century. Rohit did not have a lot of support from the other end of the crease but fought well to help India score at a good rate.
At the time of writing, India were at 226/5 in the 79th over of the match. Rohit Sharma was batting with Ravindra Jadeja.
